What is that thing around some of the dogs waists?
Some male dogs are known to mark (pee) on things, to mark their territory. This can create a chain reaction, where most of the other dogs want to mark the same spot as well.
When we are indoors, we use belly bands to help maintain a clean environment for all our pups. They are essentially a type of diaper, designed just for pee. They are comfortable for the dogs to wear, and still allow the dogs to pee, just without the mess. They are also completely washable and reusable.

Why is my dog wearing a different collar?
Because we have to move the dogs between our indoor space and our outdoor playground on leash, we may put an additional collar or a harness on your dog, to ensure we can move them safely. We have a wide variety of collars and harnesses, our main choice being a martingale collar. These are designed with a loop on the collar that will pull tight if your dog tries to slip the collar.

-
What happens if I show up late or early to drop off or pick up my dog?
It takes a bit of time for us to get all our pups leashed up and organized when we are moving inside or out. If you arrive outside of our set times, you will have to wait until we are finished getting all our pups organized, before we can come help you.

-
How does drop off and pick up work?
The night before your booking, you will receive an email outlining our drop off and pick up procedures. Please make sure you familiarize yourself with these before you bring your dog out for the day.

-
Should I bring my dog's harness/gentle leader/prong collar, ect?
Yes, please bring what ever your dog is used to walking in. We will use it when we are walking the dogs between our indoor and outdoor spaces. When they are playing with their friends, we will take them off.

-
Will my dog stay clean throughout the day?
Probably not.
Because our pups get to play outside throughout the day, in all types of weather, we make no promises that your dog will stay clean. We will do our best to clean them up before home time, but we are never going to stop them having fun to keep them clean.

-
Do you use treats throughout the day?
We do use treats, to reward good behaviour throughout the day. Our main treat of choice is beef liver treats. If your dog has an allergy, you are welcome to bring your own treats from home, that we will use only for your dog.

How does a Pup Pass work?
A Pup Pass is a set of pre paid vouchers. You purchase a 5 or 10 package, then when you do future bookings, your pre paid days will be applied. Each package does have an expiration date, so make sure you plan to book roughly once a week, if not more, before you purchase a package.

-
Why can I only see prepaid packages when I try to book online?
You must first create a profile for your dog on your account, before you will be able to book them in online. If you have not added a dog to your account, you will only see the option to order a pre paid package.

What is a trial day?
All new dogs must go through a trial day, to ensure we are the right fit for them. We set up a trial day, on a day of our choosing, to see how your dog feels in our group. We do require that you drop off your dog either at our 8:15 am - 8:30 am drop off time, or our 11:15 am-11:45 am drop off time, to ensure we can properly introduce them to our group of pups.
The rest of the day works like a normal day, with your dog socializing, interacting, and playing with our pups.

-
How late can I book my dog in?
At a bare minimum, we like to have at least 24 hours notice, to ensure we are properly staffed for all our pups. To ensure a spot, we recommend you book at least 1 week in advance.

-
Why can I not book my dog for the day I want?
If you are unable to book your dog for a certain day, it means that we are either closed, or fully booked. We do occasionally get fully booked, so we always recommend that you book your dog in at least 1 week in advance to ensure we have a spot for them.

-
What vaccines are required?
We require proof of valid Rabies, DHPP or DAPP, and Bordetella vaccinations. If your dog has a valid reason for not having one of these vaccinations, we do have a waiver that we can discuss with you.

-
Why am I getting notifications about my dogs vaccinations?
You must upload a photo or scan or your dogs vaccination records, from your vet, that shows when their next vaccines are due. We then have to view those records, and approve the dates that their vaccines are due. If you have not uploaded proof, or if we have not had a chance to validate the dates, then you will receive notifications about their vaccines when you go to book online.

What is a Party at Pups?
Here at The Pups Place, we love to party! So every now and then, we have a Party at Pups. Our parties include fun things like a festive photo, which you receive an electronic copy of, and a festive activity or craft. They are a day full of extra fun for our pups. Sorry, these are only for pups, not people.
